Eugene “Gene” Doseck, 53, of 304 South Kuhlman Street, New Knoxville, Ohio, was found dead on Friday, February 27, 2009, at his residence.

Gene was born November 11, 1955, in Saint Marys, the son of Nicholas and Barbara (Etter) Doseck. They survive in Botkins.

He is also survived by his siblings: Rebecca (Kenneth) Jacobs of Wapakoneta; Diane (Fred) Piehl of New Knoxville; Kathryn (Sid) Thompson of New Knoxville; Daniel (Deb) Doseck of Athens, Ohio; Theresia (Wayne) Hedrick of Wapakoneta; by nieces and nephews: Kendra (Scott) Seewer; Kevin (Kris) Jacobs; Keith (Julie) Jacobs; Nick (Carey) Piehl; Alicia (Nathan) Green; Melissa (Rob) Michael; Scott (Jenn) Thompson; Dominique Doseck; Carrie Hanson; Ashley Hedrick; Zach Hedrick; by twenty great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister, Barbara Ann and David Edward Doseck; by two nephews, Woody Piehl and David Arthur Thompson.

Gene was a 1974 graduate of New Knoxville High School. He was employed at Setex Corporation in Saint Marys. He loved sports, especially the OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns. He loved cooking and baking and surprising his family with delicious desserts. He was a member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Mary Kay Brown, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, Saint Marys.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to either Gideons International or the Auglaize County Cancer Association.
