Richard L. Dicke, 75, of 5936 Highway 8 West in Mena, AR (formerly of St.Marys, OH) died Wednesday September 2, 2009 at the Mena Regional Health System in Mena, AR. 

He was born February 14, 1934 in St.Marys, OH to Lafe Henry and Hazel (Hussey) Dicke. 

On June 2, 1956 in St.Marys, OH, he married Anna Smallwood, who survives. 

He is also survived by:  son Kenneth Dicke  of Mena, AR

                                             son Tim (Candy) Dicke  of St.Marys, OH

                                            daughter Lisa (Robert) Perry  of Cedar Hill, TX

                                            brother Larry (Betty) Dicke  of St.Marys, OH

                                           sister Wilda (Rev. James) Allison  of New Lexington, OH

                                           5 grandchildren: Kristen Abernathy, Beth Dicke, Josh Perry, Rachel Perry, Collin Perry

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Dicke; brother, Bill Dicke; an infant brother; sister, Jean Adams; sister, Elizabeth Schnarre. 

He was a 1952 graduate of Memorial High School in St.Marys.  He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.  He was a retired production employee from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St.Marys. 

Following his retirement, his family moved to Mena, AR. 

He was a member of the Christ’s Church in Mountain Fork, AR, Freedom Water Assoc. and the Mountain Fork Volunteer Fire Department. 

Mr. Dicke had the heart of a true servant, and devoted many hours to helping those in need. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, organizing St.Marys Little League, crossword puzzles and watching old John Wayne movies. Above all, he liked to be with his family. 

Funeral services are scheduled 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 12, 2009 at the Miller Funeral & Cremation Services 1605 Celina Road in St.Marys, OH with the Rev. James Allison, officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites, will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens, near St.Marys. 

Visitation noon until time of services at the funeral home on Saturday.
