Betty Jane Cross, 86, of Notheana Drive, St.Marys, OH, died 3:48 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2007 at the St.Marys Living Center. 

She was born October 3, 1921 in Greenville, OH, the daughter of Elmer and Hazel (Rhoades) Knick. 

She married Albert Cross on September 6, 1938; he preceded her in death on August 23, 2006. 

She is survived by:

¨ Granddaughter-in-law, Norma Cross, Celina, OH

¨ 3 great-grandchildren: Sonya, Annie and Megan Cross

¨ 3 great-great-grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan and Hallie Edwards

¨ 3 step-great-grandchildren, Greg, Mataya and Brannon Edwards

¨ Sister, Mary Burns, Greenville, OH

¨ Brother-in-law, Byron Young, Tampa, FL

¨ 3 nieces

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Ted Cross; and 3 sisters: Ruth Cowgill, Glena Young and Donna Shiverdecker; nephew, Jackie Shiverdecker.

Betty was a graduate of Greenville High School, Greenville, OH.  She retired from General Motors Inland Manufacturing in Vandalia, OH. During World War II, she worked in war factories.

Betty enjoyed bowling and playing cards.  She was a wonderful seamstress, making many of her own clothes. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, St.Marys, OH, the Rev. Bill Maki officiating.  Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, St.Marys, OH.

Friends may call from noon until time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
