Marie L. Cordier, 82, formerly of 08361 Burd Road in Celina, OH died 7:00 a.m. Monday June 27, 2011 at Hospice of Dayton. 

She was born December 7, 1928 in Wapakoneta, OH to Guy and Alma (Sandkuhl) Benzing. 

On May 24, 1954 in St. Marys, OH she married Paul F. Cordier, who died June 22, 2000. 

She is survived by:

Daughter, Jane (Roger) Young  of Centerville, OH

Daughter, Joyce Cordier  of Hilliard, OH

2 grandsons: Jason Young and Christopher Young

Sister, Sue Miller  of New Bremen, OH

Sister-in-law,  Janice Benzing  of Adrian, MI 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Robert Benzing; brother-in-law Arthur Miller. 

She was a1947 graduate of Memorial High School in St. Marys.  She was a homemaker and farm wife.  Always willing to lend a helping hand, she was involved as a 4-H advisor in Neptune and helped start the Girl Scouts troop in St. Marys. 

She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in St. Marys.  Her favorite pastimes included cooking, crocheting and all family-centered activities. She also served as a resident volunteer for Bethany Lutheran Village in Dayton.

Services are scheduled 1:30 p.m. Friday July 1, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road (Ohio 703 West Chapel) in St. Marys, with the Rev. Becky Erb-Strang, officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys.

Visitation for family and friends will be held  noon – 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
