Lora Collins, 75, of 1708 Nagel Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, died suddenly at 6:02 P.M. Saturday, November 26, 2011, at OSU Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio.

She was born January 8, 1936, in Mousie, Kentucky, the daughter of Troy and Biddie (Wicker) Chaffins.

She married Morrell Collins on March 5, 1955 and he survives at the residence. 

She is also survived by her two children: Lutrena (Dan) Slusser of Celina; Amain (Sue) Collins of Celina; by four grandchildren: Michael Slusser; Dustin Collins; Jeremy Collins; Makayla Slusser; by one great-grandson, Mason Collins; by her siblings: Ballard Chaffins of Saint Marys; Myrtle Johnson of Kendallville, Indiana; Cora Fields of Hindman, Ky; Dora Lewis of Crossville, Tenn; Sally Fairchild of Saint Marys. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and by five brothers: Coy Chaffins; James Chaffins; Richard Chaffins; Paris Chaffins and Leo Chaffins. 

Lora was a 1953 graduate of Hindman High School. She graduated from Alice Lloyd College and earned her Master’s Degree at Ohio Northern University. She retired after 30 years of service from the Parkway Local Schools, where she was a kindergarten teacher. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Saint Marys.

Her children and grandchildren were her life. 

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at the First Church of The Nazarene in Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Smith and Reverend Bill Drummond, officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
