Florence I. Caywood, 91, formerly of 420 Jackson Street in St.Marys, OH, died 8:25 p.m. Wednesday July 8, 2009 at the Celina Manor Nursing Home. 

She was born May 14, 1918 in Amanda Twp. - Allen Co., OH to John and Mary (Brown) Bowers. 

She was first married to Gerald Leatherman in 1937 and he died in 1960. She then married Robert Caywood in 1962 and he died in 1965. 

Survivors include:

                             daughter, Evelyn (Pastor Kenneth) Whetstone  of Celina, OH

                              son, Gene (Wilma) Caywood  of St.Marys, OH

                               9 grandchildren       numerous great-grandchildren

                               brother, Donald (Gloria) Bowers  of Elida, OH

                               sister, Helen Zimmerman  of Delaware, OH

                               sister, Lois (Jim) Parlette  of Cridersville, OH                                  

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son, John Caywood;   brothers: John Wesley Bowers, Dale Bowers, Robert Bowers, Homer Bowers;  sisters: Sylvia Richardson, Marjorie Page, Thelma Bowers, Hazel Bowers 

She had formerly worked at the Westinghouse Corp. in Lima, and retired after 33 years as an office employee from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St.Marys. 

She was a member of the St.Paul’s United Church of Christ in St.Marys and its Hannah circle, Order of Eastern Star Hawthorne Chapter # 119., and the St.Marys Crochet Club, all in St.Marys. 

She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting and needle work. 

Services are scheduled  2:00 p.m. Monday July 13, 2009 at the Miller Funeral Home 1605 Celina Road in St.Marys, with the Rev. Dr. Ed Bray and Pastor Kenneth Whetstone, officiating. Burial will follow at the Spencerville Cemetery, in Spencerville. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
