Virginia Mae Carter, 80, of 704 Devonshire Drive, Celina, Ohio, died 2:40 P.M. Friday, December 30, 2011, at Mercer County Community Hospital.
She was born April 4, 1931, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of LeRoy and Golda May (Goodwin) Rupert. Mrs. Carter grew up in the Saint Marys, Ohio, area.
She is survived by her three daughters and two sons: Candise Snyder of Troy, Ohio; Diane (John) Kochert of Celina; Holly Ann Waltz of Portland, Indiana; Gerald “Gary” Chrisman of Jenison, Michigan; Timothy Chrisman of Celina.
She is survived by
two brothers: William (Barbara) Rupert of Xenia, Ohio; Michael (Irene) Rupert
of Framingham, Massachusetts.
She is survived by her seven grandchildren: Mona (Tim) Anderson of Troy, Ohio; Mark (Debra) Laux of Columbus; Heather Smith of Troy; Teresa (Rick) McHenry of Maineville, Ohio; Melissa (Richard) Truman of Fayettville, Ohio; Laura (Kevin) Murvay of Lebanon, Ohio; Nichole (Adam) Nagy of Celina; by eleven great-grandchildren; by fifteen nieces and nephews.
She is survived by
her former husband, Gerald Chrisman of Celina. She is survived by a
half-sister, Debra (Dean) Kile of Phoenix, Arizona; two half-brothers: Jack
(Nancy) Rupert of Galveston, Texas; Douglas (Lori) Rupert of New Knoxville,
Ohio.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Rupert; her mother, Golda Mae (Goodwin) Rupert-Mihm; by her husband, Eugene Carter; by a sister, Janet Seibert; a brother, Leon Rupert.
Mrs. Carter enjoyed decorating her home. She loved writing letters and sending cards with a poem inside. Mrs. Carter was a proud Mother and Grandmother and she loved her family very much.
Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend William Maki, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services on Tuesday at the funeral home, where memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Fund.
