Iris Ann Burwell, 102, formerly of Wapakoneta and a long time resident of the Saint Marys Living Center died 8:15 Sunday, September 4, 2011, at the Saint Marys Living Center.

She was born February 2, 1909, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Daniel and Lillian (Burton) Armentrout.

She married Guy Burwell on May 2, 1927 and he preceded her in death in October of 1993.

She is survived by her two children: LaDonna (Paul) Kogge of Saint Marys; Lowell Burwell of Liberty, Indiana; by 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Gerald Armentrout and Rowena Smith; by one great-grandchild.

She attended Lima South High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Christian Science Church in Lima, where she taught Sunday School for many years; she also was a member of the Wapakoneta Ladies’ Garden Club.

Private family burial rites will be held at Lima Memorial Park Cemetery, Pastor Richard Riggs, officiant. Memorial donations may be given to the donor’s choice in her memory
