Vonda “Jean” Burke, 77, of 490 Yale Avenue, Lima, Ohio, and formerly of
Columbus, died 8:02 P.M. Sunday, October 10, 2010, at the residence.
She was born May 18, 1933, in Mousie, Kentucky, the daughter of Linzy and Fanny
(Tuttle) Mosley.
She married Olden Burke on April 18, 1953 and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2000.
She is survived by one daughter, Penny (Terry) Cutler of Columbus, Ohio; by three grandsons: Scott (Rebecca) Main; Anthony Main; Robert (Marie) Main, all of Columbus; by seven great-grandchildren: Madison; Eric, Ryan; Anthony, Jr; Savi; Mike and Ryan (Note: there are two Ryans) She is survived by her siblings: Wanda (Don) Francis of Saint Marys; Lovella (Sterling) Marcum of Louisa, Kentucky; Roshella (John) Calhoun of Lima; Earl (Imalee) Mosley of Garner, Ky; Carl (Roseann) Mosley of Hindman, Ky; Carlos (Rita) Mosley of Lima; Gary (Georgia) Mosley of Lima; by numerous nieces and nephews; by a very special friend, Warren Terry of Hindman, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by one sister, Nancy Everage; by her husband, Olden.
Jean was the retired cafeteria supervisor for Ross Laboratories in Columbus. She attended Garden of Love Old Regular Baptist Church in Saint Marys. She had formerly belonged to the Stow Center Southern Baptist Church, where she had been very active in the women’s ministry of the church. She had many interests, but the joy of her life was being a caregiver to her family and friends. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, sister, aunt and grandmother.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 15, 2010, at the Hindman Funeral Home, 619 Hindman Bypass, Hindman, Kentucky, with Brother Gary Mosley, officiant. Burial will follow at the Calhoun and Gayheart Cemetery in Hindman.
Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina
Road, Saint Marys and from 5-8 P.M. Wednesday and all day Thursday at the
Hindman Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family via

Saint Ritas Hospice; Lost Creek Care Center and all of Jean’s caregivers over
the last ten years of her life.
