Rosalee Burden, 83, formerly of Sandy Beach in St.Marys Twp., died 5:05 a.m. Monday June 8, 2009 at the Otterbein Retirement Community, near Grand Lake St.Marys.

She was born August 13, 1925 in Wapakoneta, OH to Aaron and Mary Jeanette (Shawn) Vorhees.

On November 15, 1955, she married Paul Burden, who died September 28, 1980.

Survivors include:

• sister, Jessalyn Heinfeldt of St.Marys, OH
• niece, (and caregiver) Kay (Glenn) Doseck of Wapakoneta, OH
• nephew, David (Carol) Heinfeldt of Tignall, GA
• nephew, James (Marlene) Heinfeldt of New Bremen, OH
• numerous great-nieces and great-nephews

She was preceded in death by: parents, husband, 5 brothers: Venard Vorhees, Albert “Bud” Vorhees, Carl Vorhees, Vernon Vorhees,  Aaron Vorhees, Jr. 4 sisters: Helen Vorhees, . Violet Gross, Agnus Ellis, Patricia Plaugher

She was a retired production employee from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St.Marys.

She also worked as a veterinary technician for many years with Dr.Winner in Celina, OH.

She was a member of the St.Paul’s United Church of Christ in St.Marys.

She enjoyed bowling and cross-stitch. She also was very fond of animals, especially her schnauzer dogs.

Services are scheduled 2:00 p.m. Friday June 12, 2009 at the Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St.Marys, with Re. Dr. Ed Bray, officiating. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery, in St.Marys.

Visitation noon until 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
