James L. Brown, 66, of 319 N. Pine Street in St. Marys, OH died Monday March 21, 2011 in the emergency department at JTDM Hospital. 

He was born October 12, 1944 in Lima, OH to Walter and Bernice (Putman) Brown. 

On July 25, 1981 in St. Marys, OH he married Cheryl Ann Long, who survives. 

He is also survived by:

Sister, Ruth Grandstaff  of Wapakoneta, OH

Numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews 

He was preceded in death by his parents;, brother, Walter Brown, Jr.; brother, John Brown; parents-in-law, Charles and Mary Elizabeth Long. 

He was a 1962 graduate of Spencerville High School. 

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Viet Nam era. 

A truck driver, he was employed by Norris Milk Hauling Co. in Wapakoneta, OH. 

He enjoyed woodworking. He was proud of his Native American heritage, and embraced the culture of the Cherokee nation. 

Services are scheduled 7:00 p.m. Thursday March 24, 2011 at Miller - Long & Folk Funeral Home 314 W. High Street in St. Marys, with the Rev. Bill Drummond. Military honors tribute will follow the service at the funeral home. 

Visitation  will be held 3 - 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home on High Street.
