Don Brown, 84, of 109 Laura Street, New Knoxville, OH, died Tuesday, September 16,2008 at St.Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH. 

He was born October 28, 1923 in Celina, OH, the son of Rie and Ethel (Snyder) Brown. 

He married Winona Howell on June 4, 1949; she survives at the residence. 

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by:

¨ Son, Dennis Brown of Celina, OH

¨ Son, Randy (Charlene) Brown of New Knoxville, OH

¨ Daughter, Vanessa (Tom) Knostman of New Knoxville, OH

¨ 6 Grandchildren:  Rachel Brown, Tiffany Brown, Charles Knostman, Dale Knostman, Amy Selby and Tracy Knoxtman

¨ 7 great-grandchildren 

He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Alma Linn and Wanda Shively. 

Don was a graduate of Celina High School.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during WWII. 

Don owned and operated Brown’s Service Center in New Knoxville from 1971—1977.  He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.  He loved woodworking.  He was a member of American Legion Post #444, New Knoxville. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in St.Marys, OH.

Funeral rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, St.Marys, OH, the Rev. Tim Smith, officiant.  Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home, where memorial donations may be directed to the First Church of the Nazarene.
