Wilma Brotherwood, 78, of 114 North Pine Street, Saint Marys, died suddenly at 12:07 P.M. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Saint Ritas Medical Center in Lima.
She was born November 10, 1930, in Saint Marys, the daughter of Kenneth and Mildred (Riley) Felver.
She married Albert Brotherwood on February 9, 1948, in Portland, Indiana; he preceded her in death on April 6, 1986.
She is survived by her four children: Robert (Pam) Brotherwood of Saint Marys; John (Rosemary) Brotherwood of Saint Marys; Connie (Lynn) Wetz of Saint Marys; Delores (Charles) Miller of Saint Marys; by 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; by a brother, Jim (Janice) Felver of Buckland; by two sisters: Lola Shaner of Celina; Norma Jones of Celina; by a sister-in-law, Nancy Felver of Saint Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two step-daughters: Sharon and Connie Brotherwood; by 1 grandchild and by 3 great-grandchildren; by her siblings: Leroy Felver, Juanita Felver, Marie Felver Bailey, Jackie Felver, Roger Felver and Jerry Felver.
Wilma was a homemaker. She had been a very active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in past years, serving in many roles: she was the past president of the Altar Rosary Sodality; member of the Legion of Mary; had taught CCD and pre-school religion classes; had taught RCIA; had helped with the church bingo program and the preparation of funeral dinners; had been a lay distributor of Holy Communion; had helped organize and operate the annual parish festival. She had volunteered at local nursing homes, the American Red Cross and the Cancer Society.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at
Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Father Anthony Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will
follow at Gethsemane Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Monday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605
Celina Road, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to the family
or Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
