Mrs. Mary Yarbrough Brinkmeyer, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Olsen Center at The Forest at Duke, NC. 

Mrs. Brinkmeyer was born in Erwin,  NC.  She moved to Durham at a young age and was educated in the Durham Public Schools.  She attended and graduated from Duke University.  She was married to Robert H. Brinkmeyer, who preceded her in death in 2003, for 59 years.   

She is survived by:

¨ Daughter, Elizabeth B. (John) Graham, of Raleigh, NC

¨ Son, Robert H. (Debra Rae Cohen) Brinkmeyer, Jr of Columbia, SC

¨ Granddaughters: Sarah G. (Rimas) Petrulis, Nancy G. (Blair) Ford, Mary Brinkmeyer (Blake) Bailey, Eliza Brinkmeyer, Emma Brinkmeyer

¨ Great-grandchildren: Ben and Sidney Petrulis, Alex Ford, Amelia Bailey

¨ Sister-in-law, Doreen Yarbrough

¨ 9 nieces and nephews 

She was a member of several clubs, including the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Junior League of Washington, National Society Daughters of the Barons of Runnemede, The Order of the Crown in America, The Mayflower Society, and First Families of Virginia.  She was also an avid bridge player.

Funeral services were held May 17,2008 at Howerton and Bryan Funeral Chapel, Durham, NC, the Rev. Allen Moseley officiating.

Burial will take place Monday, May 19, 2008 at Elm Grove Cemetery in St.Marys, OH.
