William E. Brewer, 90, 11300 Circle, St. Marys, Ohio died at 11:00 p.m. at Otterbein, St. Marys. He was born July 30, 1920 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, the son of George and Joy (Helmick) Brewer.

Bill graduated from Merrillville High School, Merrillville, Indiana in 1938. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1948 and a Master of Science degree in 1950
He served with the 19th Medical General Laboratory, US Army, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations 1943-46.
He worked for US Steel until retirement in 1982. He is a lifetime member of the Purdue Alumni Association.
Bill enjoyed his retirement home, Brant Hill, in Spencer, Indiana. He moved to Otterbein in 2005.
He loved getting together with his family and friends and was known for his celebrating of the New Year by hosting a lobster fest with all the trimmings on New Year’s Eve. He was a very jovial and congenial gentleman.
A remembrance service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Otterbein Retirement Community. Burial will follow on Saturday, May 18,2011 at Rolling Prairie Cemetery, Rolling Prairie IN at 2:00 p.m.Ohio time (1:00 Indiana time).
