Arlene Folk Braun, 77, of 1119 Indiana Ave., St.Marys, died 12:41 P.M. Friday, November, 9, 2007, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St.Marys, OH.
She was born June 1, 1930, in Dayton, OH, the daughter of Edward and Doris “Dot” Leschansky.
She first married Charles Folk and he preceded her in death; she then married Reverend Floyd Braun and he survives at the residence.
She is also survived by:
¨ Daughter, Kim (Bill) Axe of Toledo, OH
¨ Daughter, Nan (Steve) Larmore of Celina, OH
¨ Son, John Folk of St.Marys, OH
¨ Son, Bill Folk of St.Marys, OH
¨ Step-daughter, Anne Prenatt of St.Marys, OH
¨ Brother, Dr. Edward “Jim” (Wanda) Leschansky of Dayton, OH
¨ 8 grandchildren: B.J. and Caleb Axe; Stephanie and Luke Larmore; Julia and Charlie Folk; Jessica Prenatt; Pvt. William Owens.
¨ She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband and a step-daughter, Faith Owens.
She was a 1948 graduate of Julienne High School in Dayton. She had worked for many years in retail sales including many years at Kellermeyer’s Clothing Store in downtown St.Marys, OH.
She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and the Beta Sigma Sorority in St.Marys. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending quality time with her friends, which earned and her the honorary title “Doctor of Hearts and Flowers”. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Saint Marys, the Reverend Anthony Cutcher, celebrant. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Monday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to the Friends of Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Toledo Public School Special Olympics in care of the funeral home.
