Barry E. Boyer, 62, of 03366 Lock Two Road, New Bremen, Ohio, died 5:15 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, following a brief illness.

He was born March 4, 1947, in Urbana, Ohio, the son of Dorothy Boyer.

He married Joann Wittenbrink on September 6, 1969; she survives at the residence.

He is also survived by his daughter, Paula (John) Parlett of New Bremen; by four grandchildren: Morgen, Noah, Mariah and Aliyah Parlett; by his father-in-law, Edwin Wittenbrink of New Bremen; an aunt, Phyllis Cox of New Bremen; a brother-in-law, Tom (Pat) Wittenbrink of Wapakoneta.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Barry was a 1966 graduate of New Bremen High School and RETS Electronics Institute. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He was employed as a Service Product Manager at Crown Equipment Company in New Bremen.

Barry was an emergency medical technician and was a charter member of the New Bremen Emergency Medical Service. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening, and repairing electronic equipment. He was a member of American Legion Post 241 in New Bremen. He liked playing with his dogs, working and spending time with his four grandchildren.

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at the Faith Alliance Church in New Bremen, Pastor Tom Sager, officiant. Private family burial rites will be held.

Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Faith Alliance Church in New Bremen, where memorial donations may be made to New Bremen EMS; Faith Alliance Church or the Gideons.
