Mildred A. Botkin, 93, formerly of 1033 South Wayne Street, Saint Marys, died 7:45 A.M. Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at her daughter’s residence in Xenia where she had resided for the past two years.

 

She was born August 5, 1918, in Rockford, Ohio, the daughter of John and Frances (Witter) Alspaugh.

 

She married Charles Botkin on June 11, 1946 and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2010.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Jean Rupert of Xenia; by two grandchildren: Nick Rupert of Xenia; Greg Rupert of Dayton; by three grandchildren: Alana, Ashley and Andrew.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Marjorie Alspaugh and Ruth Buchanan; by her husband, Charles.

 

Mildred was a graduate of Rockford High School. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church in Saint Marys. She enjoyed traveling and going to broadway shows and theater productions. She was a charter member of the Precious Moments Collectors’ Club.

 

Funeral rites will be held 1:30 P.M. Saturday, February 4, 2012, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Smith, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Saint Marys.

 

Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Hospice of the Miami Valley.
