Michael Dean Alge, 58, of Brighton, Michigan and formerly of St. Marys, Ohio died at          3:27 p.m. of cardiac arrest at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Monday, November 28, 2011.  He was born August 19, 1953 in Bluffton, Ohio the son of Jack and Doris Riegle Alge, who precede him in death.  On March 31, 1976, in St. Marys, Mike married Diana Lynn Hawkey, who survives him. 

Also surviving are two daughters, Amanda Lynn (Peter) Bales, Beavercreek, Ohio, Christina Sue Alge, Brighton, Michigan and one son Ryan Michael Alge (Andrea Yitsis) of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren – whom Mike loved dearly – Jack Walker and Caroline Diana Bales, both of Beavercreek, Ohio; a sister Susan (Tom) Kifer, Fort Myers, Florida; and three brothers; Doug (Jill) Alge of Arlington, Ohio, Bruce (Barb) Alge of Jenera, Ohio and Phillip (Toni) Alge, of Findlay Ohio; four brothers-in-law, Daniel (Dee) Hawkey, Arizona, Ron (Neta) Hawkey, Scott (Dot) Hawkey, and David (Ann) Hawkey, all of St. Marys, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Sharyn Young and Rebecca Knutzen, both of St. Marys, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Ralph B. Young and Earl Knutzen.

Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who always put the needs of others before his own.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Jack and Cara.  Mike was an avid Ohio State football fan and enjoyed working on carpentry projects with his family.  He was well respected and loved by all of those who knew him.

Mike worked as an Operations Manager for Setex in St. Marys, Ohio for 15-years where he proudly oversaw the operations of the company and valued working with his peers and colleagues.  Most recently, he worked as a Project Manager for Android Industries in Auburn Hills, Michigan. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Miller Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. 

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
