Jean Ackley, 78, of 225 North Chestnut Street, St.Marys, OH, and a resident of the Gardens of Celina, died 5:10 P.M. Monday, January 9, 2012, at the Gardens of Celina., Celina, OH. 

She was born August 21, 1933, in St.Marys, the daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Moeller) Boltz. 

She married Cloyd Ackley on  March 17, 1964 and he preceded her in death on March 10, 1967. 

She is survived by:

Daughter, Laura (Dan) Leonard of Celina, OH

Son, Spike (Brenda) Ackley of St.Marys, OH

Son, David (Peg Luedeke) Ackley of St.Marys, OH

Son, Shawn (Kerri) Ackley of St.Marys, OH

Daughter, Becky Ernst of Coldwater, OH

Sister, Mary Ann Brotherwood of St.Marys, OH

Sister, Jane Boltz of St.Marys, OH 

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her siblings Harry Boltz, Jr; William Boltz; Louise McDermitt and Esther Boltz; by three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. 

Jean was a 1951 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. In addition to being a homemaker, she had worked at Wapak Products and also the Saint Marys Armory. 

She was an avid bingo player and loved studying history, especially military history and the history of the National Guard.  She was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. She worked as Director at Agape Ministries and was coordinator of Meals on Wheels.  She was a member of the Lord’s Church in Celina. 

Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 12, 2012, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, Ohio, Pastor Randy Christian, officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, 314 West High Street, Saint Marys, where memorial donations may be directed to Mercer County Hospice.
